I'm Emily, an illustrator and author, welcome to my author website!
I've just published my first picture book 'Little Acorn The Midnight Maestro' for children aged 3 - 5 years. If you're a young reader, parent or bookshop I hope you enjoy my website!
​I live in England in the county of Hertfordshire, in a very old cottage which is very close to one of my most loved places, Hatfield House, the childhood home of my very favourite English Queen,

I studied for a BA Hons in Illustration and graduated in 2019.
Inspiration.....
My garden and visiting stately homes around the country gives me a lot of inspiration as I love nature. I have lots of visitors in my garden such as deer, squirrels, foxes, badgers, rats and many different species of birds. I often sit there in all seasons, and think about stories. Classical music is also an inspiration and 'Little Acorn' was inspired by the composer, Sibelius.​
Author journey.....
I wrote my picture book which took about 6 months and then the illustrations took another 3 months.
I've always loved to write and I'd started a chapter book a year ago. I've now fiinished writing it, and it's in the editing stage, and will be winging it's way to a professional editor soon. I'll hopefully be self-publishing it early summer 2025.
